"I am Dr. Gichuru, an obstetrician gynecologist, who focuses on women`s health in rural and or underserved areas.
I provide care to women from their adolescent years through pregnancy and into their post-menopausal years.
I am particularly passionate about educating and providing care to women in the perimenopausal and post-menopausal age groups, both locally and internationally."
Dr. Gichuru obtained her undergraduate degrees in Cellular Molecular Biology & Women’s Studies from West Chester University. She went on to obtain her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and an MBA in Healthcare Management from St Joseph`s University. Dr. Gichuru completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Dr. Gichuru is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Gichuru`s mission is to provide high quality care to women in rural and underserved communities. One way she does this is by utilizing and embracing culturally centered and trauma informed approaches in her interactions with patients.
Dr. Gichuru also actively advocates for patients and communities through different platforms including informing and educating patients during office visits, publications, and community engagement activities as well as through her research interests.
As a physician leader and Certified Physician Executive, Dr. Gichuru, focuses on assembling diverse, culturally competent and effective teams. The teams comprise of members who share the same passion, and endeavor to enhance the health and wellness of women and communities in rural and underserved areas. Dr. Gichuru employs a collaborative and trauma informed approach as her leadership style.
As an OBGYN, my mission is to empower women through education, advocacy, and by offering comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services.
One of the values that drives me is the belief in the importance of preventative health. I strive daily to educate my patients about the significance of proactive healthcare, emphasizing not only general medical practices but also the unique aspects of women's health.
